Shoetopia Soda Nakia Boots Review

*I received a pair of boots in exchange for an honest opinion.

The temperatures are falling, Autumn is in the air. When the air is crisp it always puts me in the mood for shopping for a new pair of boots. For me, boots are just as much a part of this time of year as the falling leaves. I love boots but sometimes running all over town searching for just the right pair can be a pain. So, I was delighted to find Shoetopia.com. They provide the most fashionable products at great low prices. They have many different types of products from women's shoes, girl's shoes, accessories and lots more always coming in! With so much to choose from, you are sure to find something to suit your style.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to review the Soda Nakia-AS-Contrasting Back Zipper Slouchy Buckle Riding Boot in Full Black.
Price: $36.99
Colors: Black, Came/Orange, Tan/Red
Material: Faux leather
Style: Knee high
Heel height: about 1 inch

What did I think?

I love these boots. If you have a wider calf, these are the boots for you. I had no problem zipping these even with my jeans. They were extremely comfortable walking and even bending. I ordered my normal size and they fit well but with no extra room in the footbed. That leads me to the only real downside, for me. I would have liked to have added a more cushioned insole but there is really no room. If you have a wide foot, I suggest that you order a half size larger. I love the stylish look of these boots, they look much more expensive than their price. I like the way they compliment jeans and they seem to be well made. Nice boots, great price!

Bluestone Perennials Plants Review

*I received the plants mentioned below in exchange for an honest review.

Autumn is in the air and for me that also means preparing my flower garden for next year's beauty. Fall is a wonderful time to plant perennials, shrubs, trees, vines and bulbs. I like to plant this time of year is because the soil is warmer than in the spring and the roots can get a bit of a jump start. While searching for some great new plants for my garden I came across family-owned business by the name of Bluestone Perennials .

Where you purchase your plants is just as important as your selection. Bluestone Perennials has been in business since 1972, grows and ships over 3 million plants a year nationwide and is backed by a 100% unconditional guarantee. Their plants are all grown in plantable fiber pots that eliminate transplant shock and are 100% biodegradable.  Bluestone offers a huge selection of perennials, shrubs, bulbs, ornamental grasses and more. With so much to choose from you are sure to find just the right match for your garden.

For my review I chose the Clematis Paniculata.
Price: $14.95
Height: Tall 10-20'
Bloom time: Late Summer to mid-Fall
Sun-Shade: Full sun to mostly shady
Zones: 5-8
Flower: White/Silver
Pot size: 3.5" square x 4" deep
Sweetly scented, creamy white 1" blossoms in profusion from late summer on and create a vertical interest.

What did I think?
I chose this one because they are fragrant, attract hummingbirds and grow well in somewhat shady spots. The plants were shipped quickly and arrived well-packaged for safety in handling.

This plant arrived looking to be the healthiest of the three. The fiber pot made it quick and easy to plant exactly where I wanted it. I placed this one in near the center of the front of our house.

We have had very little luck growing anything due to all the shade. I am hoping this one will thrive here instead. I can't wait to see how well it turns out next summer and hope that the little hummingbirds that come to our garden enjoy the blooms as well.

I also received the Aquilegia Dorothy Rose(or Granny's Bonnet).
Type: Perennial
Height: 24-30"
Bloom time: Mid-Spring to early Summer
Sun-shade: full sun to half sun/ half shade
Zones: 3-9
Flower: Rose/Pink
Dorothy Rose flowers have several blooms set inside one another. They attract both butterflies and hummingbirds.

What did I think?

This plant arrived just a little bit wilted, but that happens fairly often from the shock of being shipped.  It looks to be in good enough shape that after a few days of extra care it should rebound nicely. I chose this one for their unique look, feminine color and because they don't require a lot of special care. I placed this one near the corner of our bay window to add some much needed color in the Spring.

Lastly, I chose the Heuchera Rio.
Price: $14.95 each
Type: Perennial
Height: Short 9"
Bloom time: Early Summer to late Summer
Sun-shade: Full sun to half sun/half shade
Zones: 4-9
Flower: White/White
A vibrant-colored plant named for a vibrant city. Starts out peach-amber, changes to amber, and finally to yellow amber. Maroon flower spikes are festooned with white airy flowers.

What did I think?

This one also arrived looking healthy, with nice color and in good shape. I chose this one to add some low visual interest and ground cover for the front of our house. I love butterflies so, I am hoping this one will attract them as well. I also like the fact that they go through a color changing process, this should be interesting to watch the display next year and years to come. Thank you Bluestone Perennials for giving me the opportunity to review these unique flowers that are sure to bring smiles to our family and add charm to our home for years to come.

Add Some Curb Appeal With A New Mailbox; Gibraltar Mailboxes Review & Giveaway

*I received the products mentioned below in exchange for an honest review.
One thing I have learned after becoming a homeowner is that there is always something that needs to be repaired, replaced or upgraded. One of the first impressions that people often get of your home is something that we often overlook-our mailbox. The mailbox that was here when we first purchased out home has become worn, outdated and just plain unappealing. Just see for yourself:
I began searching for just the right replacement I came across Gibraltar Mailboxes . They are America's number one choice for mailboxes. Their Gibraltar Industries, PostMaster and Gorilla Box mailboxes are all USPS approved and come in many styles and selections. The offer curbside mailboxes, posts, mailbox and post combo sets and wall mounts. With such an assortment you are sure to find something to add curb and home appeal.

Gibraltar Mailboxes sent me the Olde Towne Cast Aluminum Combo to review.

Color: Black
Weight: 36.15 lbs.
Easy installation.
This post mount curbside mailbox and post combo is constructed from heavy duty cast aluminum. The weather-durable, hand painted finish will not rust.

What did I think?
Shipping was super fast and the combo was well-packaged for safe delivery. It came with assembly hardware and steel anchor for easy installation. The only tools needed were a post hole digger, concrete, screw driver, level and wrench. We found a shovel was handy also.

Once we had the old mailbox and post out of the way, we just dug the hole a tad deeper with the post hole digger. Then we attached the anchor to bottom post, placed the anchor/post assembled into the hole and poured the concrete around the anchor. We then waited for the concrete to set before finishing assembly. Next we attached the top post section to the bottom section, inserted the cross arm into pocket, placed the scroll support into the hole to assemble the cross arm. Next we just used a screw driver and wrench to attach the mailbox to the cross arm. The only problem we had was that a couple of the holes for the screws almost didn't seem large enough and it took a bit of effort to get the screws to go in all the way. Once fully assembled all that was left to do was place the street address numbers on the side.

I love the look of our new mailbox and it adds a lot of charm to our home. It is well-made, works great and looks very nice. I think it will hold up well against the elements and make a great first impression to anyone visiting our home.

I also received the High Grove roadside mailbox in Aged Copper to share with a friend or family member.

Product description:
Weight: 13 lbs.
Fully assembled.
The mailbox's custom designed front and back frames, flag and latch are accented with a beautiful anodized aluminum brushed nickel finish. The large size mailbox body is constructed of heavy duty steel and has concealed bottom mounting holes for strong durability and a refined look.

What did I think?
The picture does not do this one justice, it looks much nicer in person. The coolest feature, in my opinion, is the magnetic closure. It is a very attractive mailbox and seems to be quite sturdy. I like the large size, it is sure to hold lots of mail with no problem. Now, all I have to do is to decide what lucky person will get this beauty.
